Our History
Via an international conference of a group of experts held in June 1967 at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a special grant from the New York State Science and Technology Foundation, it was decided in 1967-68 to introduce the computing sciences as an academic program at SUNY, Stony Brook. The Computer Science Department was formally established in Fall 1969.
